The CRREM Pathways are intended to reflect the latest and best available climate science. They are, therefore, subject to change. For example, changes to the CRREM Pathways will be made to reflect new scientific data and discovery, regulatory changes, and updated projections for energy consumption, renewable power in electricity grids, carbon budgets, and other technological advancements.
The CRREM Pathways are governed by the Technical Council and CRREM Foundation Board. All changes to the CRREM Pathways or CRREM Pathway Methodology must follow the approval and adoption procedures as defined in the respective Terms of Reference, including the examples above.
A formal ‘Procedure for Development & Maintenance of CRREM Pathways’ is currently being developed. This will guide CRREM’s update frequency, stakeholder involvement and consultation processes, data input criteria, etc. Once approved by the CRREM Foundation’s relevant governing bodies, this procedure document will be publicly available for all stakeholders. An interim, concept version is available for download below to offer a high-level view of direction. We welcome your feedback on this.
