Technical Council

Purpose

CRREM’s Technical Council is the key governing body responsible for the independent technical development, maintenance, and approval of the CRREM Pathways, the CRREM Risk Assessment Tool, and CRREM’s Global Methodology.

Bringing together leading experts from academia, research institutions, and industry, the Technical Council reinforces CRREM’s role as a trusted, science-based tool for the real estate sector. Its mandate is to safeguard the scientific integrity of CRREM’s methodologies while ensuring they remain practical and relevant for real-world decision-making.

Key responsibilities are:

  • The technical development, maintenance, and approval of the CRREM Pathways and CRREM Pathway Methodology
  • The alignment of the CRREM Pathways with the global CRREM Pathway methodology
  • The quality of CRREM Risk Assessment Tool and Reference Guides
  • The quality of any future products/derivative of the CRREM Pathways

The Terms of Reference outlines the role of the Technical Council, its scope, composition, appointment process and working principles. These terms also reflect the decision-making procedures of the Technical Council, as well as how the Technical Council interacts with the organization’s other governance bodies.
