Scope
These terms cover the CRREM Global Pathways, the Emission Factors dataset, the Postal Code Lookup and HDD/CDD datasets, the Technical Blueprint and its JSON schema, and the CRREM Risk Assessment Tool — together, "CRREM Data."
License
CRREM Data is provided by the CRREM Foundation under the terms set out on this page. It is free to use for the purposes listed below, with attribution. Uses outside that scope — including commercial redistribution, derivative datasets, and embedding into commercial software — require a separate License Partner agreement.
Permitted uses — free of charge
CRREM Data may be used for internal and professional purposes, including:
- Non-commercialized academic, policy, and industry research.
- Portfolio construction, risk assessment, lending, underwriting, and client reporting by investors, lenders, fund managers, and real estate companies.
- Engagement with portfolio companies and counterparties.
- Use within in-house climate-transition models and internal decision tools, for the organization's own investment, reporting, and risk-management decisions. Embedding CRREM Data into models, platforms, or tools that are sold or licensed to third parties falls under the License Partner section below.
- Teaching, training, and non-commercial publication.
Software providers, consultants, and service providers may use CRREM Data as one input to deliver analysis to their clients, provided attribution is preserved and the data is not itself resold or repackaged as a standalone product.
Uses requiring a License Partner agreement
The following uses require a separate written agreement with the CRREM Foundation:
- Commercial redistribution of all or a significant portion of CRREM Data.
- Creation of derivative datasets, ratings, benchmarks, indices, or funds where CRREM Data is a material component.
- Embedding CRREM Data into commercial software, SaaS platforms, or analytics products sold to third parties.
- Any use of the CRREM name, logo, or "CRREM-aligned" / "CRREM-compatible" marks in connection with a commercial product.

Attribution
You must cite CRREM Data using the citation block on the relevant Library page (e.g. "CRREM Foundation (2026). CRREM Global Pathways v2.05. Amsterdam.") in any public or shared output that relies on it. Where space permits, include a link to the source page on crrem.org.
Reproduction
You may reproduce a small portion of CRREM Data in articles, reports, presentations, and public documents with attribution. Wholesale reproduction of full datasets on public websites, in knowledge bases, or in commercial publications requires written permission.
No warranty
CRREM Data is provided "as is." The CRREM Foundation, its officers, the Technical Council, and its Regional Advisory Committees do not accept liability for any claim, loss, or damage arising from use of, or reliance on, CRREM Data.
Updates
CRREM Data is versioned. Users are responsible for checking crrem.org/library for the current version and for citing the version used.
Changes to these terms
The CRREM Foundation may update these terms from time to time. The current version applies to all downloads made after the revision date.
