What the program delivers
CRREM accreditation is a voluntary status for advisory and consulting firms. It shows that a firm follows CRREM's assessment methodology, commits to transparency and quality control, and keeps its claims objective and neutral when it markets its services and communicates results. For investors and asset owners, it means a CRREM assessment holds up whichever accredited firm delivers it.
Consistent results
Accredited firms apply the same CRREM assessment methodology, so results can be compared across firms and portfolios.
Tested competence
Each firm completes worked test cases scored against a fixed answer key, and is re-tested every two years.
Clear claims
Firm leadership signs a commitment to CRREM's quality, disclosure and claim-language standards, and that commitment is public.
A public record
Every accredited firm is listed in the public directory with its badge number, so anyone can check a firm's status.

Accreditation confirms that a firm follows CRREM's assessment process and methodology. CRREM does not endorse any firm's specific work, and the underlying CRREM assessment is the same whichever accredited firm carries it out.
Accreditation you can trust
Accredited firms sign a leadership commitment letter that binds them, at director level, to CRREM's quality, disclosure, and claim-language standards. The commitment is public, so the market can hold accredited firms to what they have agreed.
Claim-language boundaries sit at the center of this. CRREM results reflect a building's actual performance, whoever carries out the assessment. Accredited firms agree never to claim their involvement produces more favorable outcomes, which protects CRREM's value as an objective, standardized measure.
If you have feedback on how an accredited firm is applying the standard in practice, tell us at [email protected]. We read every message and follow up with the firm where needed.

[email protected]Common questions
What does accreditation confirm?
That the firm, as an organization, applies CRREM's assessment methodology consistently, follows CRREM's disclosure and claim-language standards, and has passed CRREM's worked test cases. It is granted at the organization level and covers the firm as a whole.
How can I check that a firm is accredited?
Search the ASP Directory by firm name or ASP badge number. Only firms with active accreditation are listed.
How long does accreditation last?
Firms are re-tested every two years through an updated test case, which is covered by the annual fee.
Does a firm need accreditation to use CRREM in its work?
No. Accreditation is voluntary. It gives clients an independent way to see that a firm applies the methodology to CRREM's standard.
How does a firm apply?
The steps and fees are on the Become a Partner page, together with the application form.
Shaped in partnership with the market
Before the program opened, CRREM set it up together with a founding cohort of advisory, engineering, and assurance firms. Across three group dialogues, they helped shape how accreditation works. Taking part in the cohort is separate from being accredited: accredited firms are listed in the ASP Directory.
