First cohort spans four continents, marking a pivotal moment in the standardization of real estate transition risk assessment

Amsterdam, NL — 19 October, 2026 — The CRREM Foundation, the global steward of open-access, science-based transition pathways for real estate, today announced that eleven firms have achieved status as CRREM Accredited Service Providers (ASPs). This is the first cohort to meet the Foundation’s rigorous accreditation standard for the consistent, objective application of CRREM’s transition risk assessment methodology.

It represents a significant step in CRREM’s evolution toward a globally harmonized common language for transition risk pricing. Firms undergoing accreditation must adhere to specific methodology and disclosure rules and pass several CRREM assessment test cases.

A market milestone for consistency and comparability

For transition risk to be meaningfully priced across real estate portfolios and transactions, the market must be able to trust that a CRREM assessment is comparable regardless of who conducted it. The accreditation of this cohort is a direct step toward that goal.

“Comparability is one of three key factors needed to move towards our vision, which is transition risk being priced at every deal table,” said Andrea Palmer, CEO, CRREM Foundation. “These eleven firms have demonstrated the commitment and competency to apply the methodology correctly, transparently, and consistently. That matters enormously as CRREM become more deeply embedded in investment, lending, and portfolio decisions.”

What accreditation represents

ASP status is a performance-based designation, not a commercial endorsement. Accredited firms have demonstrated adherence to CRREM’s risk assessment methodology, commitment to transparency and quality control, and agreement to objective, neutral language in how results are represented to clients.

Critically, ASPs are bound by certain boundaries that protect CRREM’s role as an objective, science-based transition risk assessment framework, grounded in a consistent, performance-based methodology.

“We do not want CRREM to become another metric that can be massaged,” said Palmer. “This accreditation exists to ensure that CRREM remains a truly objective, performance-based assessment that the market can rely on.”

Growing adoption, raised standards

The designation of this cohort comes as demand for CRREM-related advisory services continues to grow across global real estate markets. The ASP program was established in part to address observed inconsistencies in how the methodology has been applied and communicated as adoption has scaled — protecting both the quality of individual assessments and CRREM’s broader reputation as an objective, science-based framework.

The Foundation expects the cohort to grow as further firms complete the accreditation process. A full list of current Accredited Service Providers is available at crrem.org/partners/asps.
